Best 4-stroke dune quad?
#1
I purchased my KFX700 because it is an awesome all around trail quad for the trails in PA. Well, I am moving to CA now and will probably end up selling my Recon. Should I get a new dune quad for myself and give the KFX700 to my wife or put the 800 kit in the KFX700 and buy the wife a Z400? If you were in my shoes, which scenerio would you go with and what is the best all around 4-stroke dune quad? Thanks.

If you want a dune quad get a YFZ. That is, if you go to dunes with big hills, and like to jump too. If you don't go at it real hard, get a Raptor or DS they are real comfy and have enough power.
But like at St Anthony, where the hills are real tall and steep, the heavy quads fall behind quickly.

you've never seen St. A's then. I have a raptor, love it to death, but the yfz, banshee, 250r do better on the big stuff

Where in CA will you be?
If in Southern CA and going to be going to Glamis you really don't need all that much power.
If going to Pismo, a 400EX without paddles is enough.
Dumont - you'll want a little more power but, you can get by with a 400 series.
Northern CA and planning on goint to Sand Mt., NV - You'll probably want a powerful quad.
I love my DS. You can probably get a DS and put some mods on it to get some AWESOME power out of it at about the same price as a YFZ (man, the YFZ's are expensive!)
The DS will be way more comfortable in the dunes and desert of most CA riding than the YFZ.
Give your wife the KFZ700.
