My top choices are the 450r and YFZ450.

Guess you all haven't rode a V-Force on the Dunes huh?? Well, smokes them raptors for sure. My buddy has one and it outpulls that thing like no other. Auto is the best for the dunes. No hesitation inbetween shifting. When yall are pickin your gears, IM GONE!!! hahahaha.

i prefer my 450r, or a ds650 for the dunes (stock for both). i've ridden all the bikes mentioned except a v-force, and i like the smoother suspension.
there's no need to rip on people cuz of their opinions or the quads that they ride...

Guess you haven't ridden dunes that have hills. Rode plenty on a V Force and it was real nice till you face a vertical 300 footer then its a pig.

No one mentioned a Rally running stock tires
It cant even go straight on dunes running stock tires

DS650 period.
12" of travel
smoothest ride
widest
290 watt stator
most comfortable seat
ROTAX power
Superior engineering(very easy to maintian)
STRONG parts
All quads are fun in the sand, but the DS is the best DUNER!!
Bigger!

Friend of mine has a couple of those DS's and really likes them for the sand. I've never ridden one but they're sure comfy to sit on.
Oh, one of them has a Yamaha FJ1200 motor with nitrous. That's his favorite.

I find the comment about the V Force not being able to climb the big hills interesting! I have never found any thing my V wouldn't climb. I climbed everything at Glamis and every thing in El Paso area! It just never stops pulling! Interesting enough I also have a 700 Prairie and I rode it all over Glamis and it climbed everything as well!
My favorite dune machine would be obvious! My Kawie V Force! There is simply the most forgiving machine I have ever ridden! And when it comes to bikes, a KX 500 is where it's at!
