You better go to st anthony dunes then. The vforces are pigs when it comes to BIG dunes. I can give them a head start and I still catch and pass them like they are stopped.

i think there's a lil bit of miscommunication here...

i think nitromann is thinkin the best 4-stroke for dunes in terms of performance and speed. the v-force guys, as well as myself, are thinking in terms of overall comfort and ability to go everywhere. the v-force can climb all the big stuff, but not as fast as some of the other bikes.

There is a small article in ATV Sport Magazine about the V-Force and if its the new Dune King. I believe it hangs with the best of them even though it weighs about 516 lbs. The sand piles I climb are 45degrees and steeper and you hit them hard goin straight into them. The front end digs in and I just glide up them hills. These hills are taller than 50 feet and steep on all sides. I ride at a sand excavating plant near Lawrence KS and the big machines just dump the sand into perfect cones. The machines are about 100 ft high I think so these are steep piles. Its tons of fun. I car ride wheelies readly good with the sand tires I got. Guess theres only one way to find out whos king.

I smell an atv connection magazine members shootout. We all need to get rich and meet at everyones favorite spot and do some shootouts for the true no holds barred best dune quad. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have to say YFZ or DS, I have a YFZ, it has the power potential, but the stock shocks are rough in the dunes. The DS has lots of potential also, its massive, wide, has good shocks, I fell safe when im on my pops ride, he also has a banshee that is pretty comfy, but the DS removes ruts, small bumps etc... that you can feel on any other bike. It matters about your weight for most of the part, if you weighing 280+ I dont think you would want to be on a YFZ, DS suites bigger people, but my dad isnt big he is 170 skinny but not scrawny lol.

Let's all meet at St Anthony dunes and see if a V Force can climb Choke or Devils.

I tried Choke cherry on a bone stock V force with Sand Sharks and made it maybe halfway up. I weigh 195. My son who weighs 80 pounds just barely got to the top with that thing. I saw one with pipes jetted etc make it up with a guy who was maybe 160 pounds.

For comparison sake, my kid makes that hill on his (good running) Blaster. Weight is everything on big hills.

The V Force works very well on small hills and all around duning and is very comfortable. But a tall steep sand hill (not dirt) changes everything. The heavy machines really struggle. But for the most part we're just talking about the BIG hills at that one dune area, most others don't present that situation.

Choke is over 400' high at about 50-60 degrees. Devil's dune is even bigger @ over 650' high and the same angle.

I am sure that there are hills that no quad will climb! I climbed everything at glamis and I just cursed up to the bottom of the hill and didn't even dial in full power till half way up the hill! Then at the top when the front end comes up I just roll off the power and glide over the top! I have Yoshi pipes and 22x11x10 haulers paddles and diamond G snorkel !

any thing glamis has is a mole hill compared to st.anthony, like was said before choke is over 300ft and on the steep parts is 67 deg.,devils is taller and just as steep.
a v-force would make a nice cruiser quad, but your not going over the big hills, the yfz is the best stock hill shooter ive seen and only improves with modds, they are just plain fast on the BIG hills, the honda 450 has not impressed me yet, raptor and ds make great cruiser quads also but you can still play at the hills,it still takes one built raptor or ds to run with modded yfz, like was said before the big quads like to dig holes on take off.a good running yfz will get 2-3 lengths on my 727 out of the hole, i havent got to try my gasgas yet but i think it will perform as well, mabey better than a stock yfz
