Default 450r vs yfz450

These quads are neck and neck when it comes to the dunes, the trx is definetly a plusher ride, but to make it compete with the yfz,you are gonna have to put a little time and money into it.my yfz is a little stiff suspension wise but it takes the hard hits great and flies very straight.they are both very good machines,it almost depends on if you like honda or yamaha.they are that close.the trx will need more help out of the box then the yfz,but after its done it will be just as fast.all i know is i love my yfz,but i would probably say the same thing if i owned the honda.

How about a YFZ with a 200 pound guy vs a 450r with a 115 guy... heh heh

a lot of people have been saying that the 450r needs a lot more help to keep up with the yfz, motowise. here's a lil fact for all of you: at Four Stroke Wars in the 500cc and under stock bore class, the 450r won the first 2 rounds in the final, taking the win for the class. the mods: cam, springs, porting, HMf exhaust, valves, 13.8:1 piston, and a longer swingarm. according to a spotter, they won every race by at least 2 lengths. i also beleive the rider was about 150lbs. they were puttin out about 53hp.

no need to apologize. four stroke wars was only a week or 2 ago, and until that honda blew everybody away, the common thought was that the honda will need lots of money and mods to beat the yfz. now there is some proof otherwise, i was simply sharing it. sorry if i came off a lil harsh

I rode Dumont this last weekend with my Trinity 440EX with aftermarket carburetor. Here are some results. Beat various 450R's that were stock, end cap removed and re-jetted, Big Gun Pipe, and other after-market exhausts. Some 450R's beat me, but less than half. There was 1-450R that was beating everyone. Beat various piped Raptors, some Predators, however I did get beat by some of those with modifications unknown. I stayed close, 2-3 bike lengths with DS650's. I beat like 4 YFZ's stock and piped, but the majority of the machines destroyed me. Beat some Banshees. There were a ton of 450R's there which surprised me. One of the funniest things on the week-end was when a guy on a piped 450R called me out----but he would only race me if we started half-way up the hill, past the whoops. A hill without whoops, what a joke!! Needless to say I beat him, when I started at the base of the hill and he started half-way up the hill. I was thinking about purchasing a 450R, but they don't seem to handle the whoops that well and their power output isn't much more than a 400EX.

it was a 480 and the exhuast was 100% custom from ESR. i dont remember if it was ultra lites and drag axle but i assume so.

unless im thinking of another class.

YFZ VS TRX470This is KGB's big bore, ported, pulsecharger, valved, trx 470 against my stock cam, stock piston,bolt-on YFZ450(439cc).not bad huh. Thats also itallion stallions craycraft 686,and another yfz.So as far as comparison, that answers your questions.we are equal weight riders.Me and KGB that is.Dont get me wrong,KGB's trx is very fast, but we are comparing quads, and mods.Any questions.lol
