For you pismo goers-
I dont know if you have noticed, but there is some A$$hole that goes into the dunes and creates rows of big sand obstacles with a bull-dozer. When i was on a night ride, i not only got stuck in there but practically flew over the bars, and would have if it werent for my lightning quick reflex's, J/K. My main purpose of asking this question is to find out what the hell this guy is trying to accomplish.

Hmm. How the heck is he getting a dozer down there? I just can't see them letting him on the beach with it. Not exactly something that's easy to hide.

But I've noticed the dunes this year are pretty nasty. Razorbacks, Witches Eyes, etc. Though I've only been going for 3 years now though. And not all that often.

I was there a month or so ago, and I know exactly what you are talking about. They are to the southeast of the base of "comp" hill and, if you get caught in there, it can be a lot of work to get out. My buddy, who likes to brag about his 450r and how good a rider he is, got caught in there during the day, and it was hilarious watching him try to get out, until we finally helped him pull his bike out. The sand is so soft, that once you start spinning, the read end buries and you are suddenly looking up at the sky. I've never seen anything like it. That night, that same buddy was leading a ride in the dark, and lead all four of us back into the center of what we started calling the "Sarlacc Pit" (like from Return of the Jedi). Fifteen minutes later, we had all of the bikes out, but we were completely exhausted.

I was there over the 4th and we screwed around in there for a while. I ate $hit the first time through. In one of the deep ruts toward the right side. I got a little speed and caught my front right whell and she flipped sideways and sent me flying. Luckily it was soft sand so it didnt hurt anything but my pride. My 3 buddies who were following me stopped right behind me to laugh. We all got stuck and it took some work to get out.

The best part is some a-hole on a Shee stopped and watched us getting unstuck and then tried to show us how it was done and ate it himself and then got really stuck......

They were freshly done right before the 4th. I was one of the first ones through. By the end of the 4th weekend they were not nearly as big and steep.....
