Default yfz or 450r

Hey I was just wondering what do you guys think is bett4er for the dunes. I know that this question is everywhere but I just want to know what is better for the dunes. Is the yfz450 or the honda 450r better. I mostly want to ride around with my family and friends but i love to race up the hills and things. I currently have a crf450 and i love the power and i know that this is sort of a down size in speed. My friend has a yfz and i really don't want that. I just want to know some ups and downs. If i put the hrc kit on the honda will that give me any advantage?

Thanks
Brent

A 450r with the ESR 480 kit. That would be very fun in the dunes.

the 450r would be a good choice. actually either the 450r or the yfz, they are both good quads

i like my 450r in the dunes. the 06 will be even better. i read that the hrc kit for the 06 increases power by 30%. thats a considerable amount over the 04/05 editions. but if you do not want that much power, get an 04/05. you can ride any way you want. when you want it to rip, it will. the 06 engine will be more aggressive, but the handling is said to be better.

The YFZ is a little faster out of the box, but the Honda with the cam etc works very well too. Sit on them both, or better yet try to get some ride time, then decide. Take whichever one you feel more comfortable on, and also try to imagine kick starting all the time if you're looking at 05 and older 450R.

I ride the big dunes and the YFZ power is great, but I get beat all the time by 450R's that are modified to some degree, so don't think you have to go Yammy on power alone.

Very impressed with how unbiased your response was. Usually I don't see that anymore. Most people seem to stick with there bike being the best wether they are right or not.

Thanks 450R. I'm 44 years old, I don't have to prove anything to anyone anymore for any reason. It's very liberating.

I have both and i dont know which one to tell you i know the yfz is easier to get power out of but the honda is easier to ride all day I would say go think of what you want to do go real fast or go fast and ride longer I also have a 06 with electric start the only way to go and with the hrc kit it pulls 45.1 on the dyno
