Glamis Report xmas/new years
#1
Ah, what a pleasure it was to see well over 100 Federal undercover agents in unmarked SUV's, in addition to air support and other law enforcement, at Glamis for xmas. It seems the word got out that the crack smokers who made a mess of Glamis for t-day would be in for a Glamis Hell if they did not behave. My hat is off to the law for nailing virtually every drunk in a car, bike or atv.
Once again, the DS650 crowd was limited to about 7 who spent their time sitting on their atv's -- apparently the term "just don't Doo it" has some meaning. However, there was one DS (who previously took a bad crash at the sand drags on t-day) that actually was out trying to race. If he did not weight 300 pounds, he probably could have won a race or two against a stock Raptor.
As for Raptors, the only other fast Raptor was some Alba prepared thing with pink headlights -- it was no match for a stock swing armed tip only 686 though. Of the 400-440-465 ex crowd. There was one 465ex on N20 that ran good but could not match a good Raptor. Banshee's sure, there were a couple that could get some distance on the Raptor, but I only counted 1-2 (not including the drag race only bikes). I will say that there was one LT500 that could run pretty good at Comp but never appeared at Olds for a real test against the 720.
On the youth atv scene, there was only one youth (90cc or smaller)atv that made it up Comp and Olds hill. In fact, it could beat almost every Blaster, 300ex and some 400ex's. Simply amazing.
As for the 2 stroke Hill bikes, I hope the guy that took a spill at 50+ at Olds is ok. He really looked a mess after his drag bike ate him up.
By popular opinion, I must say that the crowd of pit lizards representing Ohton Racing are a bunch of jerks expecially the short little Mexican guy. If I ever see him grab another racer's helmet and pull on the guy, I will step in. I wonder if Charle Ohton knows that his representatives are out there pulling on helmets, spraying sand on other racers, cutting other racers off, smoking dope, leaving beer bottles on the ground, etc. Pass it on -- he needs to know it makes him look bad.
Sorry--that is all for now I'm kinda tired from the 8 day trip.

Are you not the same whiner that was complaining about the Turbo's beating you on T day?
I must say, the quote about the DSs was spot on.
Let me guess, you are complaining about Charlie Ohton's riders because BansheeChick beat you up the hill? You should take a liking to a girl beating you
That 720 must be the mad whackest drag bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so is what you're saying is that your Raptor beat every stock framed banshee (save 2) out there? Sorry man, but I have to call BS on that.
Sorry to hear you had a bad run in with some litter bugs, they **** me off too. Everytime I've talked to Charlie Ohton, he didn't appear to be the kind of person that would condone this at all.

Lucifa-- What is with the name?? Since you are in Az, I suspect you are part of the Ohton congregation.
I usually don't spend the entire day at Olds since I would rather dune. It is possible that there are other fast Banshee's -- I just did not see them. One of the fast dune Banshee's belongs to a close friend. We use his Banshee to gauge other Banshee's for racing. He likes to stay at the hills and race all day. If I hear from him that there is a good race, I will go over and school up the victim. I am not saying that the 720 is the fastest thing out there. I just have fun messing with the Banshee crowd. I just wish for other fast 4 strokes. Heck, I would not mind if Knutz and his 8000cc DS beat my Raptor -- it would just make me want to step it up a notch.
The look on the Banshee Boyz' faces as the Craptor goes by is priceless.
Currently there is no alki on the 720 but I am considering it just for fun. On gas it is just shy of 80hp. The 686 is almost 64hp on gas.

80hp on gas in a raptor huh? Trinity's dyno? hehe
No im not part of Ohtons congregation. A guy in oregon built my motor, Ive never bought anything from ohton or even seen him in person. Although I would trust an HP number posted by him over your 80hp claim from a raptor, hehe, you should go run it on ohtons dyno next time, show us what it will do.

I went to Glamis also. I arrived at Pad 2 on Christmas night at 8:00pm and was on a 2 hour night ride by 9:00pm. My Trail Tech 50W lights were much better than stock and are a great value at $120 with billet bar clamp. The weather was great and the hills and drags were mellow until Thursday night where I saw a head-on collision at Comp. A jackass on a Banshee launched off the top and spead down the hill at the same time a novice went up at an angle. The impact was slightly off center in the middle of the hill and the the riders were spun into orbit. The Banshee guy was in shock and the other guy who could barely speak english (and had only ridden a quad twice) wanted blood or money. A good samaritan drove a pickup up the hill to load the twisted metal and bring them down to the flats. The Banshee guy was glad to be alive and realized metal can be fixed. The other guy and friends were belligerent so everyone who went to help bailed down the hill and left the area fearing violence from them. I went home on Friday before the real activity began.
