I am looking to buy GBC sand devil straight paddles, they are selling for $40 each locally. Does anyone here have any experience with these? I wanted to buy a set of Skat Trak haulers but there is a substantial cost difference. I am currently running edge paddles and am not happy with their straight line acceleration and I'm hoping to get a better run with the sand devils. Anybody have input on this?? I remember seeing a sand paddle shootout somewhere but I cant find it online. Any help there?

There is a substantial difference in weight gbc are alot heavier. As far as construction gbc is a molded paddle wher scat-trak is bonded on. I think gbc will last longer just my .02 cents. I upgraded to a pair of scat-trak extremes and have sand devils rears and shark fin fronts laying around if interested let me know your not to far away. ill let ya try them before you buy a set.

There is little or no difference. My brother had haulers and I have Sand Devils. The Sand Devils are 2.5 pounds heavier each. They will last three times as long as a Hauler.

Sandgod, good info about the GBC paddles. I just ordered the Chen Shin Dunehoppers (similar to GBC) and was curious as to how they would do compared to the haulers.

Anyway, quite a leap of faith.... Selling the Raptor for the 'zuki 400... If you got desperate enough you could always ride the 400ex.

Oh, now you tell me!!! I thought I would try something cheap that also came in a 22" size and these were the only candidates. If they really stink I'll keep them as backups and buy some 22" Haulers... My wife only gave me so much allowance you know; gotta make the best of it. I have the Sand Devils on my girlfriends 250R, and IMO, they work great.
They are a LOT cheaper, and as mentioned earlier, are molded, not glued on.
They throw a nice roost too!

I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.

I had sand devils on a 250X and liked them enough to get another set when got my DS. What worked great for the lil' Honda, is just "okay" for the big 650. Too much machine, not enough tire. However, I'd still highly reccomend them to anyone with a smaller ATV. I just wish they made a larger size than 20".

Well, my tires (Cheng Shin DuneHoppers) arrived yesterday and they look to have fairly aggressive paddles, slightly cupped and fairly tall. Mu only concern is that the middle of the paddles seem to be a little floppy and not as stiff as the outsides of the paddle if that makes sense. Also, these tires have a fairly round profile, not flat which I think should hook up well. I got the 22" tires and will see how they do at St. Anthony next week. Chokecherry should be an adequate test of traction. I still have my haullers for comparison sake. I'll let everyone know how they do.

I currently run a set of 22" dunehoppers on the Zilla, and they do suprisingly well. They are a little heavier than the Skat-traks but, the Zilla doesn't seem to notice, besides I needed to put the lighter skats on the 400EX.
