i didnt see any NARC dog out there .... thats new
the helicopter came in on Sunday afternoon. a baja looking pickup hit a razorback and dived nose first about 20 feet straight into the ground, rolled and ended up rubber side down. the two guys were stuck inside and it took the medics a while to get them out ... they both were on backboards when they did.
did you guys see the BLM's Rail? DAMN! .... its really quiet though!!

RAPTORJAY:
The trip didn't go so smooth. Check my post (about 11 posts back).
Ashburner:
Yes, unfortunately our group was a part of that mishap. Tempers seemed short that day on both sides (mostly ours). Probably due mostly to the heat. For us we had "other problems" prior to getting to Sand Mountain (see post above) as well as additional problems right before your group rode up (outlined below).
Incident:
We were sitting up on a hillside off the canyon floor as (1) Banshee's tranny had just blown-up, (2) other Banshee's had just boiled over like coffee pots. All were running (terribly) fat, wouldn't rev up or clean out. We were working on the blown Banshee and heard something. we turned just in time to see a yellow (Suzuki?) sliding into one of our Banshee's. At that point tempers flared without anyone really thinking. Some of the group lost it.... and started yelling before taking in the situation, yells came back from your side in response as would be expected . It wasn't till we went to help the rider separate the (2) ATV's that we realized the rider was a woman, and after a minute of talking with her we pretty much figured out she was a novice rider. This we couldn't tell initially at the time of impact as the rider was facing away from most of us, (up hill), and wearing a helmet (no excuses).
It wasn't right, It shouldn't have gotten to that.... Rest assured after we calmed down we didn't feel to good about the situation, but based on the preceding events noted above, as well as those noted in my previous post, possibly you can see why/how our tempers got to be on such a short fuse/edge that day. Again no excuses.... it wasn't right... I heard your Wife stopped over to our camp on the way back in to apologize. I also heard that a couple of guys from our camp went over to your camp as well to apologize to her, and to your whole group as well....
I hope we can put this behind us.... and again, for our group, I'd like to offer another apology....

I'm sorry you didn't have the best first trip...but it's gotta be better next time
With the heat and all the "stress" that goes with close quarter camping/riding I saw lots of lost tempers
I'm happy as heck that you guys can calm down and communicate...maturity I guess they call it...
