Default 2009 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI

I'm wanting to buy a new 2009 or 2008 old stock Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI. I need some info on what people have paid for a new 2009 or 2008 Sportsman 500 EFI. Prices on a carburated 500's would help too. If you have accessories, please list them too. I just need info to get a good price. Any info would be tremendously helpful. If you would like to share problems or opinions on it go ahead. Any tips or strategy on what to tell or ask the dealer to get a better deal let me know. Thanks Tim

First thing I would ask them is what charges are there besides the price of the Atv. Many/Most dealers charge a freight and set up fee. Some are higher than others. Ask me how I know. LOL

I bought a 2008 polaris 500 efi from a dealer in tennessee. i live in chicago. i paid $5899 and i added front and rear racks and a front bush guard and a gun holster case. total price for all was $6300. I did not have to pay taxes because i do not live in tennessee, so i got a certificate of ownership and not a title. to get a title i have to register the machine in illinois and pay a 8% tax. I am pretty happy with it so far. It makes a clanking sound when you decelerate in a down hill situation. I amsure it is due to the gear arrangement. I do not like the noise, but nothing I can do. Also if it sits for more than 30 days the battery goes dead. This is BS if you ask me.
I have a 1999 yamaha 400 kodiac and a 1985 honda 350. Both are better machines than this polaris. I would go for a new honda 500 if possibe. probably cost you about $1500 more, but in the long run it is a better machine....
