On another note, although I am a little tired, it took me reading and re-reading to figure out that your story was posted twice. I thought I was going insane because my mind was going over the same thing again! I need sleep...

 

I had two good friends die in this same scenario. They were pulling off a side street on to a state highway. There were two cars behind them that stated they came to a complete stop. When they pulled out a crotch rocket traveling above 100MPH hit them broadside and cut the car in half. One of my friends died instantly while the other suffered major internal injuries and died on the scene while paramedics were tending to him. The official report stated that even though they may have seen the bike there was no way to determine the high rate of speed it was traveling. It's like looking a a train comming at you. One headlight and your depth perception is thrown off. Plus when you expect the vehicle to be traveling at the legal limit not double that it's a recipe for disaster. Three young lives were lost that day a tragedy no matter who's fault it was. I hope someone sees this and thinks next time before it happens to someone else's friends.
