In need of suggestions :)

Hello people, like i said in my introduction post.. i am a total newbie with ATVs but i literally fell in love with these machines just recently and i would like to buy one.
First of all i should mention the quads that i tried:
Kymco MXU(4x4) 500 and a Suzuki LTR - 450.Of course even i could tell that we're talking about two entirely different machines.. dedicated to do different things.
What i liked about the MXU is the fact that once you put on 4x4 it moves around like a small tank without any struggle, plus the fact that you can hook up some extra things, even a box by kymco to store stuff which is also nice.
The ltr now has some killer looks, i really like the shape and everything about it.. and i must admit that i never ever had more fun with any other motorcycle etc
Question is, will i ever be able to take small trips with the LTR?
I should also mention that i am a speargun fisher - bunch o' luggage to carry around on my back plus the need to carry a small plastic freezer 'box' with ice in order to preserve the catch.. the way i see it i won't be having any problems at all with some utility ATV like the MXU.
I did search abit and discovered the yamaha wolverine 450, loved the fact that it is an utility vehicle with the looks of a sport one.. but sadly they don't give license plates for these in Greece.
I am very.. very confused about the whole thing and of course.. i am open to suggestions.
Another issue about the LTR(i assume) is that fuel capacity is at 2.6 gallons(10 liters) while kymco is at 5 gallons(18 liters) and since LTR is a racing quad it will drain the hell out of the tank rather fast.
p.s. Forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes.

Welcome to the forums Murinus.
Honestly, from the description you gave, the LTR is not for you. Sounds like you're looking for something more to the utility than sport.
Not sure what the limitations are for getting quads licensed in Greece, so I don't know that I could recommend one model and it be feasible for you.
The Polaris Scrambler has the 4wd you would like, and the sporty looks too. Not sure if you would be interested in an automatic or not.
The Honda Rancher is another model that looks more utility, but is lighter and has a sportier feel to it.

If you have that much stuff to carry around, I would consider a Polaris Razr. Sporty look and ride with plenty of cargo room. You wouldn't even need to wear the back pack, just set it in the back or the passenger seat. I would think it would be easier to license one of these than a regular atv.

You are comparing 2 quads on the opposite ends of the spectrum. They both have their uses and it is up to you to decide which one will serve you best. Keep in mind that with either choice you will encounter sacrifices. You simply cannot get a single quad that will do it all. You can get close, but you have sacrifices either way.

I would first of all suggest a 4x4 to you. THe way it sounds you like to fish and this will get you where you need to go. As far as which model to get there are a lot of good ones. My top 3 picks would be
1. Can-Am Outlander 400, or 400 XT (XT package adds front and rear bumpers, winch, hand guards, aluminum tires, awesome all-terrain tires, but if you dont need them you dont need the XT package)
2. Arctic Cat 366 (offers a great package for the money)
3. Yamaha Big Bear 400 IRS
All of these ATVs offer 4WD. The Outlander is the most advanced machine, with an automatic 4WD system and the most power in the 400 class and some of the 500 class. But the other two ATVs are cheaper, and will keep up with an Outlander pretty well in all-terrain. Hope this helps. If you have any further questions you may contact me directly.
