What small mod or cheap part/mod made your ATV experience better?

Well that is why it works great for me and there is no dening that EFI is better all around than any carb setup out there period. If you can name one thing a carb does better than EFI I would love to here it and dont even give me its more tunable as EFI is limitless in tunability!

My 500HO was a total PITA to start in the cold.. My Prairie still is. With the 850, it's turn the key, and let her warm up. Heck, my Toro Rtek snowblower is a pain to start in the cold too. I am a big fan of EFI

Never had the least trouble starting in the coldest of days, even our snowmobiles have carburators and they start in the cold all the time.
This pic was taken in 20 below zero, all would start at any time. The ATV came along more as a conversation piece on that trip.

All joking aside (even though that wasn't a joke, I'm on your side, EFI FTW) They are much CHEAPER to service or tune.........

This is going to sound CRAZY, you will all think I am absolutely NUTS, but don't knock it till you tried it...........
Winter riding tip: Wrap one of your feet in saran wrap (Yes, saran wrap, see, you DO think I'm nuts) BEFORE you put your sock on. Only do it for one foot for now to see how well it works. Go for a 2-3 hr ride and report back.
It creates a vapor barrier, same reason why wetsuits allow people to scuba dive in the arctic underneath ice. It's an old-school military trick. Socks whick up your sweat, and your feet keep sweating, and your socks keep getting more and more moist and robbing more & more heat. I do it every time I go out in the winter, even if it's just for 45 minutes, makes a HUGE difference especially long term. I also do it for my hands with latex gloves.

I like EFI but out of all the options a person could get ,IRS,Diff lock, power steering, disk brakes and EFI , EfI would be the one that least stands out vs the rest.
Here is a 2008 450 motor cross shoot out and the only one bike had EFI the RM Suzuki and it was the slowest of the bunch.Racer X Canada - motocross and supercross news and features from around Canada
Your making it sound like you jump on a throttle body ATV and it going to be like having a turbo charger installed or something and it will be night and day of a difference and it just isn't.
Only thing I can think of is it does not need or rely on a $320 ECU or $100 positioning sensor.

It's not like EFI is an emerging technology... it's been around a good while now. It's just now that it's becoming popular in powersports applications. And with ever tightening emissions control laws, EFI won't be going away, it will keep finding it's way into more applications. (EFI lawntractor?? Coming to a dealer near you. Just give it time.)

The original title of this thread was "What Small Mod or Cheap Part...".
So, rather than continue with the "EFI vs Carb" controversy, I'll just add that a FREE mod for your Carb'd quad is to remove the idle mixture screw plug and then richen the idle mixture--your quad will start easier, require less warm-up time, and the throttle response will be smoother.
Assuming you have a drill, 1/8" bit, and a screwdriver, this mod does wonders for the quad and requires No Cash Outlay.
