What small mod or cheap part/mod made your ATV experience better?
#1
Im new to ATVs but not to motorcycles.....usually there is a list of cheap accessories or easy/home made mods that make cycling more enjoyable.
What small or seemingly insignificant product or mod has really been beneficial for you. Looking for the little things, so many people get caught up in spending $8K on an ATV and tricking it out they overlook the little stuff.
Ive had limited trail riding experience but Ive got along great with some $20 TUSK grip heaters......and Im also liking this cheapy tank bag I scored a couple days ago.

I put a rear view mirror on mine,it makes riding more enjoyable,at a glace you can see what the rest of the groups is doing. On time I glanced at it and a logging truck was right on my a$s it freaked me right out. LOL
Its the parked ATV, the wind shields are a nice thing also.

The silencer on my Scrambler had a bad habbit of collecting carbon deposits which ruined performance. Solution: we took an angle grinder and cut out a section on the outside of it and replaced it with a piece of stainless and screws to make it removeable to clean the silencer out.
This pic was just after the quad was washed.

Hows that? I ride a 500 x2 efi many times and for many miles and I cant tell it from a carb 500 except the EFI sticker on the side.

This is going to sound CRAZY, you will all think I am absolutely NUTS, but don't knock it till you tried it...........
Winter riding tip: Wrap one of your feet in saran wrap (Yes, saran wrap, see, you DO think I'm nuts) BEFORE you put your sock on. Only do it for one foot for now to see how well it works. Go for a 2-3 hr ride and report back.
It creates a vapor barrier, same reason why wetsuits allow people to scuba dive in the arctic underneath ice. It's an old-school military trick. Socks whick up your sweat, and your feet keep sweating, and your socks keep getting more and more moist and robbing more & more heat. I do it every time I go out in the winter, even if it's just for 45 minutes, makes a HUGE difference especially long term. I also do it for my hands with latex gloves.

I don, think there is 14,000 feet in our entire Province of Ontario Canada or a 14,000 foot mountain with in 2000 miles of us until you hit British Columbia. I think the majority of ATV riders could say the same.
