300 Prarie

My 300 Kawasaki has been sitting for about five years. I feel that I should clean out the tank and the entire fuel system before I try to fire it up. What is the best way to clean this tank?

Great machine. See my post http://forums.atvconnection.com/gene...t-hogwash.html for cleaning out that carb if it needs it.
First I would empty all the gas out of the tank and drain the carb. Put a gallon of fresh fuel (I would use high detergent premuim from Mobil if possible but use what you can get fresh from the station.) If the fuel was shut off and the machine ran until it died due to no more fuel in the carb THAT would be best as far as the carb goes.
And after sitting for 5 years I would definately put fresh oil in it before starting it and after you run it until normal operating temp as insurance to get and condensation out of there. Cheap insurance.
You'll also do yourself good to change all the other fluids and lubricate everything cause it has been sitting 5 years.
