utility quad for fast trail riding

The 360 and 650 sra are basically the same beast just with a different engine and bodywork. I love the 650 sra and the 360 is great too, just a bit slower.

Fast utility quads hmmm. Well the Can Am Renegade 800r XXC is fast but wouldn't consider it a utility quad. Its in a class with the Polaris Scrambler 500 and the Yamaha Wolverine 450 called sport 4x4's.
Now the Can Am Outlander 800r XXC is a fast utility quad. The Arctic Cat ThunderCat or the now called 1000 is fast too but heavier without a sway bar not the best in the corners. The Polaris Sportsman 850XP is another fast utility quad, and definatly the smoothest riding out of the ones I mentioned.

Actually you can almost class the 800 or 500 Renegade as a Utility ATV. The Reanegade is the same ATV as the Outlander, just with no rack, different plastic. You can can do a straight bolt on of plastic from a Rene over to a Outlander or visa versa.
Be like taking the racks off of a XP850 and trying to pass it off as Sport 4x4.

comparing an 800r renegade to a wolverine or scrambler is like comparing a ferrari to a fiero- or an F-18 to a blimp
I think what makes the renegade more of a utility is the IRS- whereas most all sport quads (the wolverine & scrambler) have SRA's (with the exception of one or two like the polaris outlaw) I would have to class the renegade as a utility atv, not sport atv. Other then the plastic, I don't think the rene & outlander are too far apart. I think the front cv's are smaller on the rene also.

A person with a 650 Outlander could make a "one of a kind" 650 Renagade, just buy the renenage plastic and put on 25" tires. Look at there Spec the Can Am only has one frame and drive train from there 500 to 800. 2010 Can-Am Outlander™ 650 EFI XT ATVs
Only there weight is different because the Outlander has racks and front and rear bush guard bumpers and heavier 26" tires.

The Scrambler and Wolverine share the same motor as a SP500 and 450 Grizzly but not there rear drive. The Outlander and Renegade share everything,it should almost be illegal to class them as different machines, its just that some people like sporty plastic and others like racks.
