I know foam air filters need to be oiled, but do paper filters like K&Ns need to be oiled?

True paper filters like Polaris uses on the utes, or OEM automobile filters = no oil. K&N style filters are actually a cotton gauze. Yes, they need oiling but use different oils and cleaners than foam filters.
