Just got a magazine at the house that tested this product. Said it worked but got a little hot.
No kidding right.

 

Have they done any long term tests to see if the contaminants in the exhaust (unburnt fuel,hydrocarbons, CO, etc.) do any damage over time to the rim or the tire material? We had a similar set up on the farm as a kid growning up, took an adapter, and put it in the sparkplug hole of the ol' John Deere 520 and used a type of check valve system to use the cylinder pressure to pump tires up, worked great, dont know if any raw gas ended up in the hose, though !!

 

95wolv: That's a good point. Naturally in our two weeks of testing, there was little in the way of long-term damage to be observed but in truth the convenience of this thing is such that letting the air out of your tire and refilling with air from a compressor once you're back home would be a small price to pay.

Many of the ATVs we ride and race around here have virtually no storage capacity what's so ever and MX gear is naturally pocketless as well so even carrying a few CO2 cans has proven difficult in the past but the ATVAIR rolls up and can easily fit in nearly any quad's under-seat area. We found a lot of peace of mind with this thing! That system you describe sounds interesting as well.

 

flamable gas (from a rich running carbed atv) in a tire is not a good idea- I speak from experience

cool concept- but isn't it just as easy and safer to carry a small electric or hand pump- like most trail riders do

I even have a small co2 cylinder with a 3" hose that works well and is hardly larger than a pack of life-savers...
