Default poll: what do you call fizzy sugar water?

wife & I were talking about how funny it is that people in different states call "soda" by different names...

I have family in Maine that call it "tonic" -

people around here (mass) call it "soda".

so- just a fun poll to see what people around the states call it....

Declare your state when you post

In Eastern Mass., where I live, it's usually called soda. In Western Mass. I've heard it called tonic (pronounced tahnic in W. Mass.), and pop.

We usually call it pop in Michigan. I believe Ohio is the same.

Down here, it's all coke. Doesn't matter if it's pepsi, rc or any cola. Only alternative is dr pepper.

Which reminded me I had bought a bottle of mescan coke (made with sugar) and put in it the cup holder on the bike while I was tinkering on it.

Good thing you started this thread Beer, it would have still been in there when I went to work tomorrow.
