Yfz 450x or Outlaw 525 irs?
#1
Im looking into buying a yamaha yfz450x or a polaris outlaw 525 irs? I like the irs of the outlaw and i mostly do trail riding but not tocky trail riding where i need all the ground clearnace of the outlaw and every now and then i go to a local track. i want something i can take to a track or trail ride. the only mods i plan on doing are a pipe and fuel programmer. Ive also thought about the old honda trx250r.

Banshee's are referred to as the "rich man's toy" around here, not to many of them, pricey (frequent) rebuilds...
But the guys that have them are the baddest guys around!!
I tell you a good sounding pipe for them things is the 2 into 1 pipes..... nothing like it!! dynoport 2 into 1 pipe, or the DMC 916. (may wanna youtube it)
Yfz's, (as i understand) have pretty good suspension, and a pretty wide stance. Lot of used yfzs around, 3 or 4 grand average for a newer one here.
The 250r seems to be the favorite of the old bikes to mod. I've seen a LOT of mint-souped-up 250rs around here.... bad bikes... But not as torquey as a 4 stroke.

yeah with those 2 into 1 pipes make banshees sound like street bikes. Ive heard both you mentioned on youtube. Im looking at the 450x because its the trail version of the yfz450r, where i live i could find a banshee for $2200-$4000 and thats in perfect condition. And a 450x isnt much wider than a banshee, the 450x isnt as wide and its tuned differnt from the factory. Do you have any suggestions on what to get?

ive had the outlaw since 06 ive replaced the boots 1 time since ive had it an it has had a really hard life but it always fires right up ive adjusted the valves 3 times an replaced the front wheel bearings twice ive had four polarises including a 1987 trailboss that i can go stright to the building an fire right up so in my opinion polaris is a top quality atv that for some reason people underestimate
