Default 350 warrior

I have a 2001warrior. Just out the blue one day it started making a loud ticking sound. I found out that the value adjustment nut has came off.The small stud was still there. I couldn't find the nut. Using a small magnetic trying to find it. But couldn't find it. I took the timing chain loose. Removed the cam, still couldn't find the nut. I was wondering if it could fall to the the bottom on the engine. Or fall down by the flywheel. I

Do a oil change and see if it comes out the drain hole.

Hopefully nut is down by the lower timing chain sprocket area.

I traded for a warrior that was claimed to be rebuilt. But couldnt get timed right after countless times of setting the time like ive done countless times on other warriors still no start so i pull the engine remove the top half of the head leaving the cylinder on With that being said i bring the piston to the top of the cylinder so i can see its tdc!!!!! So.. every time the piston is at tdc the t mark on the flywheel is opposite of where it should be when i line the t with its mark the poston is at the bottom of the cylinder how the heck is this possible and if anyones had this problem before and fixed it please help me fix this im baffled oh i also removed stator cover to make sure i was seeing what i was seeing i know the t should align when thr piston is at the top of the cylinder ugh help
