Sportsman 500 help!!!

Default Sportsman 500 help!!!

I haven't 04 sportsman 500 ho that idles perfectly but when I put it in gear it runs for a little bit then it acts like someone turned the key off and just dies I can start it up instantly right then it ac runs for a little bit and then dies but it will idle all day long I've clean the carburetor put a new air filter on the exhaust seems fine there is no kinks in it Electrical seems fine what can what can I do please help!!

Sounds like something an ecm would do when it shorts out. Under a recall if it's never been replaced. If it has,they've been known to go out also. Check under the front panel for a finned module. If it's Black,then it's Chinese and hasn't had the updated ecm.If it's silver,plenty on ebay. Here's the recall. If it still has the original black ecm,replacement is free. Just contact a local dealer with your vin # Polaris Industries Expands Recall of ATVs Due to Fire Hazard | CPSC.gov The replacement should look like this.
