Okay so I just installed my new carrier on my 300ex. I got the carrier from parts discounter on eBay. I didn't grease it when I put it in. Do I need to grease it and what does the grease do? Can I still grease it without taking it all apart again? Thanks for the replys.

 

Does the carrier have a grease zerk? Most carrier bearings are sealed.

 

What does a grease zerk look like and if it's sealed do I still need to grease it?

Even if the bearings are sealed it cant hurt to grease it. 3-4 pumps from the grease gun every few rides will work.

 

A little grease before you put it together, then fill it with the zerk. If your axle ever goes under water, push that crud out with fresh grease in the zerk. Otherwise hit it every few rides.

 

Do I need to take it apart in order to grease it? There is a little hole underneath the swingarm where the Carrier is, is that where I squirt the grease?
