my 2001 400 smokes white smoke is it my rings, valves seals or am i running too lean?

Doesn't smell like gas,...lol. My guess would be rings worn out.( just a guess)

Ive been on my buddy's polaris scrambler 400 sport how much faster is a Honda 400ex or how do they compare?

If my memory serves me right, the Scrambler 400 is a two stroke. I know the 400ex is a four stroke. Honda has either a 4 or 5 speed transmission. Scrambler has a CVT (belt) transmission. If both had the same transmission the Scrambler 400 would blow it away. In my mind the Scrambler would blow it away off the line but the 400ex would have a slightly higher top end, so, if you had enough running room, the 400ex would eventually catch up. This is stock quads, not modified.

Yeah the scrambler is a 2 stroke and I like how you don't have to shift it does really good donuts lol. I like the speed of the scrambler so I was just curious how the 400ex compared

IIRC the Scrambler 400 engine is 378cc. It would take about 500cc in a 4-stroke to equal the horsepower. Most of the old Scramblers were 4x4 and could go places a 2wd couldn't.
