Really so the Honda 400ex is not faster then the scrambler. I'm wanting to keep up if not alittle faster then him

My best guess would be that the 400EX is lighter and faster than a Scrambler but with less power. It all depends on how each one is geared.

What about a Ltz450 are those much quicker?

450's are tuned to race. Very quick. More maintenance. Fast.

All 450s are built for racing but all that power comes at the expense of needing extra attention.

Yea, I payed $2,350 for mine. Its a 2007 400ex with front bumper, nerf bars,new battery, new spark plug, new rear tires, and was in good condition.

The price can range up to $1,000 for a 400ex depending on the condition and number of mods. Either way, get a 400ex, and try to find one with a newer year. The new the year the bettor
