Honest thoughts please

I wrecked my cousins 1995 Kodiak 400 this morning ...it was going up a steep Incline skider road and it tipped up and started rolling down..fell on top me..I got hurt..well I called as soon as it happened and was absolutely honest..all I'm worried about is making things right ...and hoping he don't kill me..if it was one of you guys and this happened...how pissed would you be, I mean accidents happen .he rides all the time up there and no problems..but the first time I do it I almost get killed..
i feel awful about it...and all I want to do right and pay for damages to atv...
Is it better to be honest with you guys and pray he don't get too upset..and offer to pay damages..I'm really worried he will never. Trust me again.

Yep, your mistake so fess up and pay the bill. Tough lesson to learn, unfortunately this happens frequently, people that dont know how to ride or think they know, often wreck other peoples equipment. I dont let people ride my stuff unless I know there riding skills and how well they respect others machines. I learned my lesson many years back, very few people are allowed to ride my toys and if they do I go along..

**** happens ..I just hope he can be patient with me and give me a chance to pay what I owe..I can't come up with 1700 all at once.... and you know something? If a person is more concerned about their atv than the person who got hurt..thier priorities are really screwed up...I was honest, upfront and told him I would do right.
If our friendship suffers because of this..screw it he wasn't that much of a friend anyways

If your willing to pay the bill then your correct, your welfare should be more important than his atv! With that said, he is gonna be upset his toy is broken, whether accident or not, put yourself in his shoes, we would all be upset if someone damaged one of our toys.

but if it was my toy, yeah I'd be upset, but if a fellow got very severely injured or god forbid killed, my TOY would be the last thing I'd be concerned about.
Now listen, I'm not trying to come across as it's not my fault, it damn sure is my fault..I was honest, and told the absolute truth about what happened, I got a bruised left lung, bruised ribs, and a nasty bruise all down my left side...what happened was unintentional.
My dad once told me, son I don't care how good you think you are, anyone can have a accident....how right he was....he has a very good job..lots of money, where as I don't.
But I texted him and told him I would do whatever it takes to make it right
I feel that's all I can do, just being plain about this whole damn mess

Well if your honest and tell em the truth all should be good eventually... Now here is where the tough part comes and we are glad you are for the most part ok... If you did not have the money to pay for the damages all at once you should not have taken it out. Does not mater if its a new toy or old thats someone enjoyment that you just took away for possibly months until its repaired.. You should not have been pushing yourself past your limits it could have ended allot worse... I have a spare machine that i loan out to certain people that i do know can afford the repairs if something goes wrong.... but i never let them ride without me and i call the shots of where they go and only go to where their limits are comfortable. Their is only 1 or 2 people i would ever loan my new machine to and i know they are capable riders. Iv been in you situation before where i smashed up the front of the bosses sled... sorta his fault since he stopped dead right in front of me.. I went with out for a month not paying bills etc and made sure the machine was repaired fully. My boss offered to foot the bill and i would just pay him when i could but i said no as thats not how i do things.. That sled was always their for me to ride after that
