I'm new here, so apologies in advance if this question isn't posted in the correct section.

I have a not-so-gently used 2001 Polaris Sportsman that I bought a couple of years ago. The AWD light does not come on, so following the repair manual, I adjusted the shift linkage.

A couple of issues have followed:

• still no AWD light, but it does work after I replaced a front seal.
• when shifted into Low gear while the bike is running, cannot get it back into high. When it is off, it will go back into H.
• in Neutral, the N & R light comes on.
• readjusted shift linkage, again exactly according to the manual.
• in Low gear, now R light is on
• in Neutral, N & R light are on

There is no slop in the shift box. I clearly screwed up something adjusting the shift linkage.
