Thanks Kell.. I'll go look at it.
Been busy gathering up information on my warranty claim with the Xterro.
FINALLY talked to AJ and as soon as I mentioned the Boss on the engine
was broken by the sheared bolt he started saying photos would have to
be sent to China to see if the "manufacturer would warranty it"
Rediculous.
As far as I was concerned my warranty was with KPX in the USA, not XYZ
Zhang buggy builders of China.

Oh yeah... and AJ mentioned that the bolt is not grade 8 on purpose so it breaks before the engine boss does.
Whelp... didn't work this time! Maybe if the bolt would break outside the boss instead of in it we'd be getting somewhere.

Talking to the guys up at toy junkies they aren't suprised, this sort of behavior is why they do not carry them anymore.
The really sad part about this is that they do not even put thier correct corporation name on thier web site. "KPX MOTORS LLC" is not listed by the AZ corporation commision. Thier correct name is KPX LLC. and Micheal Kanko is thier Owner and Statutory agent. It took way to long and to many phone calls to find this information if they were a company that wanted to do honest business.
If the courts back me maybe I can get get one of the blade buggies, Stu at least seems to know what customer service is. Meantime while waiting for the courts to act I have a $2200 pile of scrapmetal cluttering up my garage.

I dunno, but i had a Dingo Go-Kart with a 8hp Brigges engine, i took of the Govoner and rigged a manual clutch to it (using a bike break handle) and that thing was pretty fast! it had a live rear axle, and 20X10X8 Knobbie tires, and i swear, i would dump the clutch at full RPM and the thing would burnout like 20ft!

i own a kpx also and had to rebuild my top end cause the air filter is a poor design and AJ said it was not covered under warranty, also the exhaust muffler broke 6 mos ago i am still waiting for a replacement so after mos of phone calls i to got tired of wasting my time with these people not to mention the cost of all the phone calls,it is totally desguisting to have companies like kpx or what ever they call them selves these days,to deal with,i wish i could get this cart under some kind of lemon law.i have had other problems also and they fail to cover parts under warranty

Most of these companies are in the import business, not the backing up what they sell business. It seems like there is a chinese quad seller on every corner now, and when you ask them if they stock parts they say no. Larger companies like Carter, Twister or Kasea are most likely going to have better warranties and actually stock parts. This is probably why they charge more for there carts.
Have you rebuilt the top end yet? Just wondering, mine still smokes some after replacing the valve seals so I will have to at least put rings in it. I guess I might as well put a piston in it also. Did you hone your cylinder or are these so small you shouldn't bother scuffing it up?
My problems are due to poorly designed air filter also.
If there is room to bore, I might as well get a piston and rings for the alpha motorsports 170cc quad which has the same engine except larger bore (stroke is the same).

Yeah, AJ seemed as though he was pretty good as denying things under warranty.
I was getting the same vibe from him before Josh came on himeself and said he would cover my issues publically at another site. We'll see how long this takes though. I'm not holding my breath. I'll have to
wait it out though... I'lll be damned if I'm buying all the parts for the type of damage I had!
I've also had a few little issues with a Blade, but Stu backs his stuff up well and is very responsive.
By the way, in case you weren't yet aware. AJ just quit.
That would make their 2nd parts person at KPX that quit in the last 4 or 5 months... isn't that right?
See my photos on here for images of my damage. A bolt let go at the engine that attached the gearbox support arm to the crankcase. Nasty mess.
AJ said it was non grade 8 so it would break away under stress and save the engine boss.
Well guess what? The engine boss went anyway because it broke too deep inside th boss to save it and all sorts of leveraged force was applied to the boss lip.
