Silencer for Rhino 660
We have a Rhino 660, it only has about 50 miles on it so far. We've only had it about a month and are still breaking it in. My question is - has anyone a recommendation for a silencer for the exhaust? We would like to use it when hunting, but it still is very noisy. Anybody have a certain brand they know about? The easiest is always the best.
Thanks for any help - the Ranch Mama.

Silencer for Rhino 660
Thanks for your input. We have ordered a Silencer from Arkansas Duck Hunter, specifically for the Rhino. It can be bolted on (they also have a weld on type available). Cost about $160. Hopefully this will do everything it says it will - claims to reduce the exhaust noise by 60-70%. Will let the board know how it works.
Thanks, Ranch Mama

Silencer for Rhino 660
I called Yamaha and told them that to noise was terrible, they said that there was no factory fix. My distributor said he runs stealth mufflers on all his stuff. I asked Yamaha if they would reimburse the $200 for the muffler and out of the blue the guy said yes. So they called the distributor and gave them an authorization code for $200 and I just picked it up.
It may not work this way for everyone, maybe I just lucked out but it?s worth a try. The muffler cut the noise down some, I can ride it without ear plugs now. Haha Hope this helps?

I think there is one called a Benz system. Has an extra silencer that connects to the existing one and has a turn down tip. Supposedly real quiet.
I am going to get into sound deadening here real soon. Using spray liner on the metal part of the bed that faces forward, add sound mat to the aluminum heat shield above the exhaust and sound mat on the engine cover.

lucky break - I still can't hardly handle the noise. The silencer didn't help at all. I don't think that Yamaha would go for a stealth now, we are way past warranty. We had a problem with the linkage and it was one month past warranty - they didn't cover it. Not very happy with the Rhino at all, except that it goes just about anywhere. We bought a 'bad boy' electric 4x4 - just love it...quiet as a golf cart, goes about 25 miles on 1 charge. thanks for your replies, I haven't checked this site in a long time.
