Street legal Rancher ??
#1
I heard a rumor that a local guy installed DOT approved tires, mirrors, and a brake light to get a lic. plate on his Rancher from state of Washington. If this is true it would allow him to ride his ATV on U.S. forrest service roads which are off limits to ATVs with only a Washington ORV tab. Anyone heard fo a street legal ORV???

check out the latest issue of atv action, there s a guy riding in los angles on a bike licensed in oregon. the article listed 6 states that licensed atv's and said california, washington and penn might be soon to follow. i am currently wrestling with the state of kentucky on the same issue. they have indicated there may be a policy change in ky to allow licensed atv's around the first of July. so it seems things are moving in that direction.

In Wyoming all one has to do is have headlights, taillights, and a horn to get licensed in Wyoming. I always see a Scrambler 400 running around and my buddy just got his Banshee licensed for the street. He actually takes it to the local street races here in town and races cars! Kinda cool.
