Default Rubicon won't start - sounds real bad

I just bought a 2001 Rubicon fixer upper. The engine was stuck but was able to get it to turn over. It didn't start and sounded real rough. I have a feeling that it was run out of oil. What goes bad when it is run out of oil? I'm hoping it is fixable at a reasonable price. Thanks

You bought it that way and have no idea what it will take to fix it? Hope you got a buy on it, cause it could get expensive and involve complete engine teardown. You will want to check oil psi for sure, course it needs to be running to do that.

I heard of a place a while back that buys and sells totaled atv's,and they could very well have a motor or parts for pretty cheap. It is www.crashedtoys.com. It says they had a rubicon a while back that the frame was just bent a little on that was still driveable and ran great that would probably sell for $3000.It says they auction 20-30 ATV's every week. You can bid on them on their website.
