Everyone saying it lacks the power are full of it. The old 300s did just fine and the newer 250s come with just as much power or more stock. My buddy has a 250 recon that makes around 40 horses which is around the same power put out by stock 450s and that's without boring it out. Power is not the problem

 

40 hp in a Recon? It would take some serious mods to get a Foreman 500 to 40 hp. The Recon stock barely makes 20 hp, if that.

 

Yeah 40 sounds crazy but that is what my buddy has gotten out of it. He is a professional when I comes to mods. The only bad thing is that its constantly in the shop for adjustments cause getting that much power out of it causes a lot of wear and tear on the engine. You should see what MX is getting out of 250cc's.
