trailblazer 250 or 250ex?

Me and all my family go riding all the time and they ride a 250ex,warrior,lakota,and scramblers and i ride a tb.When we were all stock i got beat all the time, but now i put a pipe and more stuff on it i can beat the 250ex and lakota easy but the warrior still has me on top end and so does the scrambler but on bottom were all about even.Anyway i would go with the tb because you would'nt out grow it like the 250ex and put mods on both quads and the tb will be quicker no matter what.

I have the same dilema. I need a new quad for my 9 yo. She grew over 5 inches since buying her first quad last year. I can't keep her off her mom's TB now. We went to look/buy a used 250EX today. We agreed on a price but then the guy said he'd have to check with his wife and let me know. Wuss. We drove it in a parking lot and I gotta say it definitely doesn't have the suspension of the TB. Looked kind of bouncy when she was driving it, but it was on asphalt so it probably doesn't mean much. Seems peppy enough but it felt like driving a go-kart at a track with the governor set too low. Way too small for me, I'm 6'6". She's 5'3" and will probably be over 6' one day, probably in a couple years at the rate she's growing. I don't want to buy her a new quad every couple years.
So on the long drive home I got to thinking about what really should be her next quad. My wife loves her Trail-lounger, I mean blazer. Not a single problem yet. Maintenance? Yep, I hose it off after each ride, polish the plastic and lube/oil a few things. I bought the TB because of it's size and ease of use. Nothing else out there seemed to fit my wife quite as well. It's a tank for sure but it's still fun. And yes it will definitely wheelie, just takes a little more effort than my Raptor.
So, some day when she out grows the speed of the TB I can wake it up with a pipe and clutch mods. When she out grows the speed and size of the 250EX I'd have to buy a new quad.

250ex arent fast at all i beat one with my practicly stock tb. the only upgrade it had was a filtercharger and i beat the kid by about 3 bike lenghs. and afterwards he told me that he had it pinned in 5th and i had mine pinned to so it was a fair race.

I have had a 250 Trailblazer and from two years of experience I can tell you that the atv is pure junk..I have had to fix it more than 10 times..one time I had to put a entire motor into it becuase the oil wasnt mixing and the cylinder was grinded out. Go with the EX it is better in ever catagory.
