hey msu88, I have the same head pipe and filter as you. I running a 135 to 140 main depending on temp. I geared mine up to a 14 tooth front sprocket and have the rev limiter removed. And i never lost to a blaster! The top speed on mine is somewhere around 60 to 65 on pavement in 5th with the motor reving a few 100 rpm's past the stock rev limiters limit. it was measured by a friend on a raptor with a trailtech computer on his. Not sure how acurate he was but he tried to stay exactly even with me the whole run. I'm getting a trailtech this winter and i'm going to set it up for my 2 quads and then i'll know for sure how fast it goes. Don't get me wrong the 300ex isn't really a fast bike for a drag race at all, but its amazing in the tight trails!

hey 02blaster240, Im not going to say blasters suck cuz they don't if built up correctly, i have been riding for over 10 years now and back in the day two friends of mine sent thier blaster engines to trinity. Long story short, when they got them back i had the chance to ride both machines and they ran very hard for being a 200cc air cooled 2strokes. You may have had a new 300ex but with out rejetting and opening up the restrictive intake and exhaust you don't really know what kind of usable power it will make. You shouldn't post to a thread and dis somebody's bike, msu88 just wanted some info. Both a blaster and a 300ex are good entry level quads. the 300ex comes restricted stock and the blaster has a weak powerband stock. BTW, i never lost to a blaster, stock or piped.
