I would have to say go with the Blaster. My little brother has a 02' blaster and his good friend has a 03' 250ex and the Blaster beats the ex in every aspect in this situation. My bro is a better rider but they have been riding for about the same amount of time so he can't be that much better. There are also some other things to consider. The 250 is much more convenient. It has reverse an automatic clutch and a driveshaft. Also if your going to keep the quad for awhile the blaster has tons more mods than the ex. Good luck with whatever you choose.

 

BLasters are very underrated . They dont have alot of power stock but buy an fmf pipe/sil., a K&n, and reeds and they are pretty quick. Blasters have oil injection so you just keep it full and pump gas right into the tank and they are pretty compact for tight trails, for 3000 you cant really go wrong.

NO..not the 250EX...250X..a lot better..chain driven, clutch..basically the same thing as a 300EX just without a e-start and it is an older version..Anyways the 250x would be better than a Blaster..so many people think Blasters are really good, but they arent..you have to work on them a lot..Id say get the 250x it could beat a Blaster stock vs stock and mod vs mod...And plus a Blaster is only a 200cc...they are really small..and you would be able to keep the 250x longer..guess it depends if you want 2smoker or a thumper..Id say get the 250x though..you can just put around if you want..as of the Blaster you couldnt..you have to keep it reved high..and it would be really hard to ride a Blaster on a trail considering you have to rev the hell out of it...GET THE 250X

 

get a 250X but it would be hard to find a pretty decent one

 

stock v.s stock and mod v.s mod the blaster would come out on top. I have had mine for a year with no problems.

 

the cons of blasters:bad brakes, can't go up hills, small, two stroke, you wasted your money when you try to sell it no retail value, to keep it runnin good gotta put some money in it GO with the 250x or 250ex

 

my blaster completely stock smokes 250ex on the track, and up hills. i have raced a 250ex that had a pipe and i still pulled away in the straights. i have ridden on it for a year and there has been no problems at all. i smoke 250 exs all the time. and you dont need to rev the blaster to the moon
