Use soapy water to clean my foam airfilter?
#12
When I had my foam filter, I would use hot water and dish soap and clean it really well in a bucket. Then, I would rinse it with cold water. Last, I would blow it out with an air hose and let it sit for about 5 mins and install it back on.
But now I have a K&N.

On a paper filter compressed air wont hurt a thing. On a K&N if yor not careful youcan separate the gauze the filter is made of and open up holes in it. Just better to shake it out and let it dry on its own.

Try buying a gallon of diesel fuel and using it instead of gasoline. It will clean without breaking down the glue. I still wash mine out with soap after and let it dry. I keep several in plastic bags ready to go so waiting for it to dry isn't an issue for me.
