I think it looks great, I can't wait unit June 8th when they officailly announce it. Personally I hope it's a derivative of the 400/426f, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, more likely it's a direct response to the DS650. Whatever it is I hope it sells well and leads to better high performance quads from everyone.

When this "new" Yamaha come out we will all win. Why? Because Honda, will have to upgrade the 400EX or come out with a new bike! This means new advances in quad designs!

The June 8 announcement should be interesting.

I have been reading 4 wheel action and every time they get spy shots they have good pics of the real thing with in 6 months. Yes those photos are probly taken by a Yamaha guy but who cares. They are doing it to get people talking about it just like this.

It's getting hot and heavy in the high-performance atv world. Finally there's going to be many brands to choose from. Santa and his Reindeers are going to chance holy-hell delivering quads for the Y2K Christmas season. The Yamaha looks hot and basically it's about time. Suzuki/Kawasaki its your turn...!!!

Juvenile,

Is it me, or does the spy photo look a hell of alot like the old Kawasaki Tecate 4 wheeler? You know the ones they made only in 87 and 88 with the 250 2 stroke. Looks too similar for me.

Actually i dont see how it looks anything like a tecate, its quite larger than a tecate, if you look at the picture of "IT" in the July issue of the monster you will see a guy behind it and the rearend of the quad is up to the riders waist. Its bigger guarunteed. Lets hope it gets HONDA and the other rice burners going on their high performance quads. I think the 400EX is going to have a hard time keeping up with this new quad if it is a 426. my 2 cents

I think it shows real potential. I also think it needs to be in the yamaha forum.
