Mickey,
Thanks for your opinion and experience. That's what these forums SHOULD be all about. It's obvious why you have such a successful operation.
I have a couple more quick questions if you have time:
Once you have built the Gas Gas, YFZ and Z to race spec are they roughly equal in the motor department??
How much weight are you able to save on the Gas Gas when you delete the unnecessary components?
Like DuneDS had asked, do you think select 400ex of 250R parts will fit??
Thanks again -RT

I don't know anything about what will or will not fit on the new Honda. There was'nt realy much to take off the GAS GAS except the horn(which I wanted to leave on but it's against the rule's in GNCC racing) and some other electrical's.The GAS GAS and the Z400 are real close to the same motor's but the fuel injection make's a big difference in how the GAS GAS run's.I'am just getting started on the YFZ so I don't have alot to say about it yet except that it ez to stall in the corner's, but more time on it and I should get use to it.

Thanks again Mickey.
It is my understanding that this is HONDA'S DRAWING. IT WAS RELEASED TO THE DEALERS AND TO VARIOUS MEDIA OUTLETS. I have seen it at 2 different Honda dealers, here on ATVConnection and MCDaily. I think some people believe this was released from atvnews/atvsport as THEIR interpretation of what it would look like. This is what it's gonna look like. Dealers [maybe media too? ask dbeck?] will get to ride them in Vegas also.

I think I've found an answer to my own question. I have a source that says it's just a 400EX with a new engine, new plastic and a CR rear linage to clear the carb/airbox. The source is confidential, so you can take it or leave it. So that's good and bad news. Good news that all my 400EX hop-ups will transfer over, bad that Honda didn't blow away the competition with something radically different.
Thanks for your reply.

I'll take CR linkage, corked up exhaust in a 400ex geometry frame as long as they have beefed up the tranny and clutch like Yamaha did and addressed the maintenance requirements on the topend.
If not the YFZ looks as though it got it right.
