All The Hondas Are Running!
#1
Just a funny story---A couple of weeks ago we were riding at Kennedy Meadows (for you locals) in the Sierra Nevada Mtns. The folks camped next door (about 25 dirt bikers) were forming up for a ride. Everybody had their bikes started (all Hondas) except several guys who had YZ426's. They were kicking those things over for like 10 minutes, and still none of them would start. Somebody made the comment that "all the Hondas are running"!!

Yeah my XR600 would not start unless you kicked the $hit out of it, Until I figured out to give some throttle while kicking, My buddy's got the Yam 426, but his starts first kick every time.
I don't think it's the bikes, although everybody says the Yam is hard to start. I think it's the technique employed. my buddy with the 426 kicks it thru a couple of times, choke on comression releif pulled in, then the next kick it starts, every time.
How is it riding at Kennedy meadows?? I thought that was all "wilderness" and off limits????

Kennedy is "dirt bike heaven", but the quad riding is pretty limited. We go more for the scenery, camping, and fishing than for the riding. Still, it's great fun.

My friend's '99 Warrior had a problem with the starter. He took it to the dealer and got it repaired. Upon getting it back, his dad began "How come this happend? I've got another bike at home and I've never had problems with the starter...AND IT'S A HONDA....AND IT'S AN '86!!!". Heh funny story.
