I have an '01 400 EX, that I bought used a couple months ago. I have put a few add ons including a white bros e series silencer. My problem now is my stock head pipe is broke and I want to get an aftermarket headpipe, but white bros does not list one for the silencer that I have. Does anybody know which pipe I can buy that will work (and fit) good with what I have so far? (K&N filter, rev box, jet kit, White Bros E series silencer).

Any help greatly appreciated.

 

if u wanna go with white bros, ur gonna have to buy the promeg system (about $500!). U cant put a different header on the e-series. By the way how did u manage to break ur header?

 

yeah you should just try and sell your e-series, and buy the whole system.

Crackhead, I don't really know how I broke it. I noticed a bad rattle when I revved the quad, and thought that it was the heat shield, when I took the heat shield off, I noticed the bottom header was broke completely off. If I decide to go with a complete system, which system would be best, I know there is going to be some differing opinions on this, but looking for a good balance of price/performance.

From what ive read on here and in mags the WB seems to be the best one for the money

 

Try e-bay for a stock system! I have yet to see a head pipe make any real power differance.

 

You might want to try an LRD or Sparks system, They are (depending on where you buy them) cheaper and give much better performance than the whitebrothers.

 

Just an fyi, I was able to get hold of an FMF powerbomb header, and it bolts up to the e series silencer. This was something that my dealer had ordered in for somebody else and they never took it, so I was able to pick it up quite cheap (less than stock retail), and they let me try it before buying it to see if it would fit. I will let you know how it works whenever I am able to get riding again.
