Default 89 250r stator

I am getting no spark when I kick the motor over. I tested the complete electrical system and everything (that can be tested) ohm`s out correctly. Can anyone tell me if a stator ohm`s out correctly (between 50-250 ohm`s) does that mean its definetely still good or is it still possible for it to be bad. My stator ohm`s out at 126 (between black\red wire and ground)and that means it falls within the specified range.

The only other thing I think it can be would be the CDI, but there is specific instructions not to ohm it out(besides the fact that I dont know the normal range).

Does anyone have any experience with either testing stator or trying to determine if CDI is good?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry you havent found the help you need, but if it makes you feel any better I am having the exact same problem on my 89 "R". I have also checked all the electrical parts. Mine will sometimes fire when I kick It over and most of the time it wont. I can push start it down a hill and it will fire right up and run great. Once it is started for the first time by push starting, then it will kick start the rest of the day! After it sits all night its back to the same ol thing the next day, it wont get fire when i kick it over until I push start it first. Real aggrivated with this problem! The only advice I could give you would be you might check all you your wire connectors for your electrical parts. Stator connectors, pulse generator connectors, and so on. The Honda manual will show you all of them. I changed out some of the connectors on mine and put a brand new Ignition coil on it and still have my random no fire problem!

Good luck,
If you figure it out, please let me Know!

Thanks 89Rman --mine doesn`t spark no matter what I do. I checked all connections and found nothing. I know its either the CDI or the stator its just a matter of trying (buying)one. Like I was saying I ohmed out the stator, but it seemed to ohm out correctly(within range), but I dont know if that will give me an exact determination of it being good or bad, thats why I was hoping to hear from others about their experiences.

Thanks again I appreciate the reply.

The 50-250Ohm spec is like Honda saying you have to rebuild your top end every 20 hours.

I belive it should read around 170 or higher. Call Ricky Stator to be sure 619-449-3905
