Problem with the Honda!!!
A friend of mine has got a 1985 big red 250 and their's an electrical problem with it. When you turn the ignition on, nothing goes on, no lights, no neutral light, nothing. The thing is that it worked perfectly until he went in a poker derby with it. We're guessing some moisture got into the ignition or somthing. We tool the voltmeter and found that their is lots of power at the fuses, (we replaced them) the battery, and everywhere else on the electrical. But when we took the meter on the ignition, their was a big power loss. Could it be that something is corroded. If I were to spray non-conductive spray all over the ignition, you think would it fix the problem? Keeping in mind that it was running perfectly until after he parked it at the end of the poker derby, could it be something elso, or is it the swithch. All the other electrical parts look fine.
Thanks in advance

How can the spark plug do anything with it. You turn the ignition and not even the lights go on. The starter is the same thing, I'm no electrician but if the electric current doesn't go through to the ignition, how could it be the starter. No power is going through after the ignition. So is it the swithch?

I really don't think you should be calling anyone an idiot you told him to check the starter motor and the spark plug which has absolutly nothing to do with the ignition turning on and off sending power to the lights (man are people STUPID). Really think before you speak ! I would take the connections going to the ignition apart and check them for corrosion. then go from there checking all of the connections. Remember to put di electric grease in each connector before you put it back together (this will help keep the connectors from corroding).
Good Luck
