I have a 2003 Rancher es. Ever since I bought it when you wind out the gears you can hear what sounds like the valves rattling. I figured when I took it in to get it's first service the sound would go away when they adjusted to valves. I specifically told the dealer to adjust them. The sound is still there and when I climb hills or wind the gears out, even a little bit, they really float. Has anybody noticed this on their rancher or maybe foreman.

 

You should probably get it checked out. The valves sound like they are out of adjustment so rip her apart and check. If you aren't capable then throw it in the truck and take it to the shop.

No, it's not under warranty. It ran out in June. Yeah, I'm capable. I've adjusted all the valves in my atv's. I was just wondering if anybody else had the same noise in their bikes. I'll try checking the valves and see what conclusion I can come up with. Thanks!

 

i have noticed this in mine toi bought it in january 2003, it is only noticable in mid range anything else and its not there
