New to quads need help

the 300ex's come with a nice suspension but dont last very long (depending on how much u like to jump and how high u like to go). First thing to do on that bike is remove the head light, looks like a trx90! install some fog lights in their place or behind the bumper or even on the fenders. Next widen it! flip the front rims and buy some spacers or an axle. Dont buy aftermarket rims, some will extend the rear end about an inch or two but tend to bend, again this depends on your jumping. The rims you have now (if stock) are rolled and are almost as good as beadlocks. Next getting a K&N will let it breathe a whole lot better, a pipe wont make a difffence unless you get a full system. Tires dont get holeshots! i put some 20/11/9's on my bros 300ex and they were gone in about 4-5weeks, shredders or razrs will last u a very long time and provide excellent traction in most terrains. Shave the front fenders to a 250R style for waaaayyyyyyy better looks...

the b/o kit is a good mod, the parking brake doesnt even work so its just added weight. Aftermarket pistons are lighter but u wont notice a difference. The rev limiter on the 300 is fine, u dont need to rev that bike any higher than it already does, thats where the problems start. anything else??? ride the hell out of it ITS A HONDA!

A 300ex looks much better with 20 inch tires then 22 inch tires. I know the parking brake located on the clutch on every clutch quad doesnt work but why, and how does it work if it squeezes the clutch?

it pulls a cable that goes to the rear brake, the clutch is only pulled to pull the cable into "locking" postion. cheap things never work though, i guess you have to adjust them or something i dunno i take them off

Amen..shocks/suspension first before power. Most stock quads have plenty of power to get you into trouble - even on a trail. An upgraded suspension can provide a wonderfull safety net and let you learn a lot faster what the limits are - safely.
