Runs like Crap
#1
My 99 Forman. last week for the frist time ran like crap. if you would get on the gas it would stumble, later that day I changed the plug the old one was black. I put a new one in and it's still runing that way. I have the FMF pipe, K&N air filter and jet kit. also what this the proper way to check the oil on this ATV. do I put the dip stick all the way in or just to where I can put it in with out scewing it in??
Thanks

If your plug is black it is running too rich!
If it used to run alright with this setup and now does not I would look at the choke and cable to make sure it is fully opening. Also make sure of the obvious and clean the air filter. If it has been a problem since the mods were done then start there. Could be you went with too big of a jet, or the needle clip needs to be adjusted.
As for checking the oil, Do not screw in the dip stick just put it in until it stops. If you screw it in it will give a false reading. (showing it is full when its not)

Yeah Trailboss is right when he said you are running a little ritch.
Also did you flipped it in the sand or mud and then this started to happen?
because once when I flipped my bike sand got into the thumb throttle casing ( i think that is what its called) and then it stoped my throttle from releasing all the way.
Check that too.

I agree, got bad gas!
Adding gasline antifreeze will get rid of any water in the gas, but if the gas is old and smells funny, drain it out and put new gas in.
Do you run on reserve often? If so, you may have picked up some dirt off the bottom of the tank which may get caught up in the carb. I never run on reserve. Reserve is there as a safety feature in case you run low and don't realize it you can switch to reserve to get you home. I was very surprised to find that many people leave there fuel tank on reserve all the time.
REMEMBER Have fun and always play safe!
