Rancher AT suspension vs. Rubicon suspension
#1
I had my heart set on getting the new Rancher AT. Then I drove my friend's Rubicon. It rides rougher than my F350. Will somebody please tell me that the Rancher is much smoother than the Rubicon. I know the Rubicon is mr. workhorse, but for me, comfort is number one.

You think the rubi is rough? How much do you weigh? It is smooth as glass compared to my sport bike and the foreman 450. If you get 2 people on it you can go even faster and have a smoother ride. It is set up for a lot of weight.

I guess i am just spoiled with my wifes outlander suspension. I weigh 220, so i would guess i am heavy enough to mash the springs a little. Should I spend the extra $1500 for the rincon, gain more weight, or by another outlander for less than the rancher?? I sure do like the AT.

I bought an AT a few weeks ago and love it. The suspension is fine at lower speeds, but try to fly through rough stuff and it does get a little rough. I rode an outlander before I bought my AT, I think I liked it a little more than mine. I didn't buy because the closest dealer to me is an hour and a half away, the honda dealer is 15 mnutes. I was also worried with what is going to happen with the buyout of Bombardier. I am in sales and have seen a buyout of a company and have seen how the dealers and product can change with the new company. IT just kinda scared me. I know Honda isn't going anywhere, my dealer has been here for 35 years and I will have the AT for awhile.

I have put very few miles of the 1000 or so on our 02 Rancher and several thousand on our Rubicon. There is almost always two of us on the Rubicon so it rides smoother than the rancher. I don't think either one really has a "nice ride". With 400 pounds on the Rubicon it rides OK. If a nice ride is important, I think you will either have to look at the Rincon, Outlander, Polaris , or even an AC. I would like to have a Rancher AT at home too. I rode one and liked it.
