Default Foreman ES Shift

Just purchased the 03 bike. Breaking it in on the deer lease, I found that it did not shift consistantly to N. To get a re-start I had to rock it foreward and backwards and once I did that, I would get a N display for restart. Is this a break-in issue or a life-time practice? Showing 35 miles. While I am at it, I'm curious, I paid $5,400 total price for the bike. Did I get a good deal?

My Kodiak has done the same thing since new. My buddies Grizz, does the same thing. My other buddies Suzuki does the same. I think it's a very common problem from all manufacturers. I'm not even sure I should be calling it a "problem", it's just something that happens with the light/tranny sensor. It's not that there is a mechanical malfunction, it's just one of those unexplanable phenomenons.

Did that make sense?
