Are you sure its coming from the motor? My friend has a 250ex and it used to have a clicking noise but he later found out it was from the suspension. If this is not the problem, then another problem could be that the piston is hitting the valves. If anything is wrong with the motor you should take it to your dealer and describe what your hearing and where you think its coming from. Even though your son is just a beginner, I personally wouldn't have bought him a 250ex. I think if he is about 12 or 13 he would be ready for either a 400ex or Z400. The first bike I got was a 400ex and it took me only about an hour to learn how to manual shift. The 400ex is really reliable and has enough power to putt around. The Z400 is not as reliable, in my opinion, but it has a reverse gear whereas the 400ex doesn't. The Z400 is also a manual shift but has a little bit more power than the 400ex. If you ride trails you will be happy with both, if you ride dunes you'll want the Z400.

trx450 it could be from the suspension but it sure sounds like its coming from the engine but i just had it serviced 3 days ago it's a pretty obvious sound, it's not like it does it every once in a while its constant all the time. if it was something major you would think the dealer would have informed me of it when i had it in 3 days ago but thanks for the input ill call honda tommorow its under warranty thanks

I have no suggestions for that other than maybe take it back to your dealer. I would also check the oil. Did it do this before the service
