Has anyone bought a '04 EX yet? I was wondering if the new carb made much of a difference.

Can the stock ex 1999-2003 carb be bored to the same size?

 

My cousin just recently bought a 2004 400EX and raced it against a KFX400 and said the KFX400 was faster on top end, but that it was mostly even until then, but he also said the rider on the KFX isn't as good of a rider, so with equal riders there is no telling what will happen.

 

yes this carb can be bored to 38mm.

 

sparks said they bore to 36mm. guess the fcr 39mm is the real carb to have on these machines

 

how much would it cost to buy the new 04 carb and have it put on an older model, would it even be worth it? the cost in canadian funds would be preferable.

 

o dude! u jus gave me a brilliant idea! my dad bought a digital camera from canada and it saved him a couple hundred bucks. i need to start ordering my parts from canada!
