RECON
l looked at the Recon today. I liked the looks of the machine and it seems to be the right size, but then i noticed the brakes on the front are drum brakes. ON a new machine i was suprised then i went to their website just to confirm that this was true on the new models and sure enough it was. I would like to buy one but i think i will wait. ANybody know when they are redoing the front end? I am researching other 250 class bikes now as well.

RECON
i got a recon its got about 100 hours on it now. the front brakes are fine. they provide plenty of stopping power on most any surface. the only thing i dont like about it is that its kinda hard and you cant adjust them like the rear. but i wouldnt le that get u down its a great machine and will take you to h*ll and back.

RECON
yep its hard to believe drum brakes , disc brakes work better have fewer problems ,dont need to be adjusted, easer to change ,dont hold water, cheaper, and on and on . the drum brakes will be ok , no great, for about two years and then be prepared to replace every thing that is in there and even then, they will never be the same.

RECON
My friend just bought a 2003 Recon Saturday and we got to go riding today. Very nice quad he to was looking at the Ozark. then he checked into the price of factory replacement parts he went with the Recon. Go to partsfish.com and look at the cost of some of the parts that you would have to buy in a roll over the Ozark parts are two to three times the cost of the Recon. That was more than enough to make the differance.
